Each of the warring factions in the Mortal Realms is part of one of the Grand Alliances, ancient compacts dating back to the Age of Myth. Find out more about the bold defenders of Order, the dread forces of Chaos, the sinister servants of Death and the savage warriors of Destruction by selecting the sections below.
Rampaging across the Mortal Realms like a force of nature, the forces of Destruction plunge headlong into battle at the slightest provocation. Hordes of green-skinned orruks and grots, migratory tribes of brutal ogors and mighty beasts such as the towering gargants seek only to bring ruin to all and sate their primal need for violence.
Below, you will find information about each of the various factions of the Mortal Realms, including a brief overview of who they are and why they fight, alongside an introduction to their playing style.
The biggest and fiercest of orruk-kind, the Ironjawz are the epitome of “might makes right”. They use their phenomenal strength and brutal cunning to bring their enemies to battle and crush them in a tide of heavily armoured green muscle. An Ironjawz army combines elite troops with strong magic and durable monsters, and specialise in tearing foes apart in vicious melee.
Seen as savage and unhinged even by other orruks, Bonesplitterz go to war wearing loincloths and warpaint, wielding crude bone clubs and bows. Their faith in Gorkamorka is their greatest strength – for their god protects them even where armour would fail. Bonesplitterz armies are a frenzied mass of powerful attackers, made surprisingly durable by their magical warpaint.
Nomadic ogors who ride immense warbeasts into battle, the Beastclaw Raiders are followed wherever they go by the Everwinter, a cursed storm that freezes their enemies and empowers the ogors themselves. An elite army made up of huge monsters whose devastating charges are backed up the elemental force of winter itself, Beastclaw Raiders are a unique sight on the tabletop.
Individually small, weak and cowardly, when they band together, grotz can be easily as deadly as their larger green-skinned brethren. From the fungus-fuelled magics of the Moonclan to the Spiderfang grots and their terrifying arachnid mounts, and aided by vicious and durable troggoths, grots are not a force to be underestimated.
Gutbuster ogors are driven by two things – eating and fighting. Heading into battle with immense clubs designed to tenderise their meat-to-be as they fight it, they march alongside the Firebellies, priests dedicated to the destructive worship of fire, while the monstrous Aleguzzler Gargants follow in their wake, sure that where their ‘smaller’ cousins go, carnage and feasting follow.
